Chelsea has been with PBVC for 3 years. She always has a smile on her face and has been known to take selfie’s with unsuspecting cute animals! Though she is trained as a veterinary assistant, Chelsea’s primary focus at PBVC is Customer Service and she is one of our lead Receptionists so she will often be the first to greet you as you come in our clinic. We are pleased to announce that Chelsea is our February Featured Employee!
Why did you choose to work with animals?
From an early age I have always had a love for all types of animals. During high school I worked with various barnyard animals through the LA County Parks and Recreation. I decided I wanted to pursue a career in animals and got my Bachelors of Science in Animal Science. I love to volunteer and have traveled to Nicaragua to work at a free spay and neuter clinic and Thailand to treat elephants that have been injured riding camps, logging camps and landmine injuries.
Why do you love working at Pismo Beach Veterinary Clinic?
I love working at Pismo Beach Veterinary Clinic because I love our clients and seeing all of the pets grow and go through their life stages.

February is National Pet Dental Month, and because we want your loved ones to start the new year with fresh breath, February will be also Dental Month at Pismo Beach Vet.
At Pismo Beach Vet, we strongly believe that preventative dental care is the best way to ensure that your pet has a healthy smile for life. It has been shown that 85% of dogs and cats have periodontal disease by the age of three. Good oral hygiene, starting with regular dental cleanings, can improve comfort as well as overall physical health. Untreated dental disease can lead to major problems affecting the heart, lungs, kidneys, and liver.
For the month of February all dental packages will be discounted 15%. These packages include not only the dental cleaning and anesthesia, but also pre-anesthetic blood screening, IV catheterization and fluids to help make these procedures as safe as possible for your pet. Mention this email and also receive a discount on dental products including tooth brush kits.

Carolina will always treat your pets like one of her own family!
I’m one of the luckiest people in the world to be able to practice my passion everyday. After 9 years going on 10, I’m still amazed and surprised by my profession. Every year brings a new technique and knowledge to improve my ability to care for animals. I love the fact that we have the ability to end suffering and relieve pain. As painful as that sometimes is, it’s a gift that I feel privilege to share. I also love that animals give you the best feeling that melts your heart every time. And that is the best feeling ever.
I’ve enjoyed working at Pismo Beach not just because of the patients but also working with our clients. They have became a family of my own. Our doctors are the best, they never stop teaching us new things, they always want us to achieve more and learn more. The people I work with all share the same compassion and commitment. At Pismo Beach, our patients are number one on our list. We will always manage to get you an appointment, we’ve extended our hours and are open seven days a week. This is why I love what I do. At Pismo Beach vet, I treat your pets as my own.
Ashley joined us in 2015 initially as a relief technician and she quickly became part of our staff full-time. We are excited to announce that she recently obtained her Registered Veterinary Technician license (R.V.T.). She has a hunger for knowledge that make her such an asset to our team and we are happy to announce that she is our November Featured Employee!
Ashley’s Bio:
Ashley is a Midwest transplant originally from Michigan and came to the beautiful central coast to attend Cal Poly. She graduated in 2011 with a degree in Animal Science. Her thirst for knowledge lead her to obtaining her RVT license in September 2016. She loves animals of all kinds and has completed internships in wildlife rehabilitation in Washington and Florida as well as one at the Charles Paddock Zoo. Most recently, she worked at Woods Humane Society as part of their high volume spay and neuter program. Currently, she volunteers at the Marine Mammal Center in her spare time. The highlights of her adventures include hand feeding lemurs, rescuing sea birds entangled in fishing line, helping to raise orphaned harbor seal pups, and socializing innumerable kittens.
When she’s not working you will likely find Ashley enjoying the sunshine at the beach, attempting a new recipe she found on Pinterest, looking for a good memoir at the library or spending time with her husband.
Ashley is happy to be a part of the PBVC team and looks forward to meeting you and your furry friends!
