Dr. Liz Noppinger has joined our team!

We are excited to announce that Dr. Liz Noppinger will be joining our medical staff here at Pismo Beach Vet.  Liz will be filling in for Dr. Sarah Conn as she takes her maternity leave and will hopefully become a long term member of the staff.

Dr. Liz Noppinger was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. Just a few months after graduating from college, she drove across country to California with the goal of staying there.

After spending 3 years in the real world working with animals in the Bay Area, she attended and graduated from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Noppinger’s special interests include emergency medicine, as well as avian and exotic animal medicine. She also volunteers her time performing spays and neuters at the local animal shelter.

Dr. Noppinger has always loved visiting the Central Coast and is excited to start the next stage of her life here, and is quite happy to be a 15 minute bike ride to the beach. She enjoys spending her free time outdoors: hiking, biking, or freshening up her surfing skills.

Dr. Noppinger and her husband share their Grover Beach home with two adorable, yet needy, feline friends, and are anxiously awaiting the right mutt dog to fall in their laps at the opportune time!

Ingrid Received Her R.V.T. License!

We are excited to announce that one of technicians, Ingrid, has just completed her training and has received her R.V.T. license.  This license stands for Registered Veterinary Technician and requires that applicants must first complete either a 2 or four year AVMA-accredited vet tech program to receive their degree.

After graduation, potential RVT applicants must take and pass both a national and state board exam. Registered Veterinary Technicians must complete a required number of Continuing Education hours each year to maintain their registration.

This additional certification means that Ingrid can now perform certain advanced veterinary technical skills, such as induction of anesthesia.

We are truly excited for Ingrid and know that she will continue to be a great asset to our hospital, as well as to our human and animal clients.  Congrats!

Exam Room Remodel is Complete!

We are excited to announce the completion of our exam room remodel!  Utilizing about half of our previous lobby space, we have added two additional exam rooms with new cabinetry and textured epoxy flooring throughout (which is great for pets that have a tough time on slippery surfaces).  Extra exam rooms will significantly cut down on wait time and increase our available appointment slots.

Special thanks to TVC Construction, Testa Painting, RC Plumbing, RRM Design, Superior Flooring, and Hays Electric.  All of our contractors worked after hours, sometimes late into the night to help us avoid closure – we know it wasn’t easy!  Also, thanks to our clients for being so patient with us during construction.  Come check it out today!

Now we get to take a nice break before continuing on to the final phase of our treatment room and pharmacy remodel…
